Home & Food Haul - South Aylesford Retail Park.

Thursday, September 08, 2016

The best part about moving house for me is going shopping for new bits to make the house a home. Recently Glen and I took a trip to South Aylesford Retail Park to see what we could pick up for our new place.

South Aylesford Retail Park is located in Quarry Wood, Aylesford. Opening at 8am and closing at 8pm the opening ours cater for a full range of people. It has a whole range of shops including Homebase, M&S Food Hall, Smyths, Pets At Home, Halfords and Currys/PC World. There is even a Coast Coffee to recharge your batteries after a wander round the shops.

We headed straight to Homebase which conveniently has an Argos inside the store as well. I headed straight for the candles, for me candles are the perfect way to make a house a home. We decided on two candles each as at less than £2.50 each I couldn't leave them behind. Glen picked Apple Blossom, a lovely citrus scent and Mulberry which is the perfect scent for coming into the autumn months. I went for Ocean Breeze, a lovely clean and calm scent perfect for popping in the bathroom for pamper nights. I also chose Pomegranate, if anyone knows me they will know the scent Pomegranate is one of my favourite scents so there was no way I was leaving it behind. I have found these candles smell amazing when they aren't lit as well. Excellent value for money.

We also picked up a gorgeous white letter rack with three little draws in the front which we plan on putting in our hallway to pop in the post and any bills we need to deal with. In the little draws we plan on keeping things like keys for the windows, spare keys and little bits that you never know where to put.

We picked up a couple of boring but essential bits for when moving house including a Pegs with Basket set as we realised all our pegs are falling apart, a underwear dryer as our airer is tiny and we need as much space as possible as we normally have a lot of laundry, a magnetic shopping list for our fridge to make sure we don't forget anything when we go food shopping and a Double Sided Tool Box because what man doesn't need a tool box when moving house ready for all that flat pack furniture.

With such a big family around us with have a lot of hands to help with the move so we decided to head to M&S FoodHall and grab some nibbles to keep everyone going through the day. The M&S FoodHall at South Aylesford Retail Park is a great size and stocks everything from flowers, food, beer and even a few homeware bits. We picked up a great selection of food from cake, biscuits and crips to one of their £8 meal deals with a pizza, dirty fries and potato skins. We also picked up a Pizza Cutter as after popping the pizza in the trolley we realised we didn't own a pizza cutter.

As we can see the food turn out really well and kept us all going. The pizza, fries and skins went down a treat and who doesn't love a chocolate biscuit or a slice of battenburg.

If you are looking for anything from a fitted kitchen or fitted bedroom, some bits for your home or car or simply a food shop I would highly recommend visiting South Aylesford Retail Park.
