Preparing For Christmas With South Aylesford Retail Park.

Thursday, December 08, 2016

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, from festive Christmas markets, buying gifts for loved ones to buying the Christmas tree and making the home all festive. As soon as December hit I couldn't wait purchase a tree, lights and decorations to make our new home super festive and help make our first Christmas in our new place a special one. As it is our first Christmas in our new home so it was time to purchase a new tree so we headed straight to Homebase on South Aylesford Retail Park.

South Aylesford Retail Park is located in Quarry Wood, Aylesford. The park itself is open from 8am till 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am till 7pm on a Saturday and 10am till 5pm on a Sunday. The late opening hours make shopping easy for everyone whether you work 9 till 5 or varied shifts.
There is a whole range of shops on the park including:

Smyths - Great for picking up some great presents for your kids or any children in your family. They also have some great offers on at the minute.

Pets At Home - Thinking of buying the children a pet for Christmas? Head to Pets At Home and talk to the staff to see what there best recommendations would be.
M&S Food Hall - Great for picking up some festive treats for any guests you have visiting over the Christmas period.
Costa Coffee - After a day of shopping why not stop off at Costa and pick up one of their festive drinks and treats to recharge your batteries after a long day.

As I mentioned we headed straight to Homebase and straight to the tree isle. As we don't have a lot of space this year we opted for a 7ft Pencil Tree. We also opted for a artificial tree, as much as we would love a real one we don't really have the space and they are rather messy tress to have as well. We found the tree fits perfectly and the height really adds to the look. We have a tradition of buying a personalised bauble every year for our tree but this year we also went with a green, red and gold theme, perfect traditional Christmas colours. We managed to pick up a 71 piece set including a range of different sized baubles, a star tree topper and some tinsel. The set was reasonable priced as well which made it even better. No tree is complete without lights so we grabbed a set of 80 Multicoloured Lights which add to the festive feeling. On the light front we also picked up a of Icicle String Lights which are currently round our TV cabinet but we might pop them in the window instead. I couldn't resist picking up this super cute Open Front Penguin Bauble. The bauble itself is hand made and the attention to detail is amazing for the price. The last item we picked up to finish off making our home festive for the Christmas period was this gorgeous Gold Tipped Fern & Pine Cone Garland. We plan on putting this round our fireplace and adding some battery powder fairy lights to give it that extra homely touch.

How do you get your home ready for the festive period? Are you adding to your Christmas decorations this year?
