Back in August Glen and I headed off to the Isle of Wight for a week. If you have ever been to the Isle of Wight you may have heard of Compton Bay, a beautiful beach perfect for spending the full day on relaxing. We kept up the tradition of spending the day on the beach this year which gave us the perfect opportunity to take along our new picnic basket kindly provided by Savisto.

When Savisto got in touch about reviewing their Picnic Basket I knew it would be perfect for our trip. When the basket arrived I couldn't wait to get it open and see what was inside. Once opened I was super impressed with the contents of the basket. The box contained:
    - A woven, wicker basket.
    - 2 plates.
    - 2 cutlery sets.
    - 2 small wine glasses.
    - 1 salt & pepper shaker.
    - 1 multi-tool with corkscrew, bottle opener and knife.
    - 1 large cooler bag.
    - 1 medium cooler bag.
    - 1 wine cooler bag.
    - 2 napkins.

The basket is made from a woven wood material and is lined with the traditional picnic blanket material. As you can see from the image above the basket itself is a great size for two people and everything fits in nicely including a full size bottle of wine in the wine bag cooler.

The lid of the basket holds the plates, cutlery, salt and pepper pots and the multi-tool which helps when packing the basket as it frees up space for the cooler bags. It also helps to keep everything in place and helps to avoid unwanted breakages. Personally I think it is great that the basket comes with ceramic plates, stainless steel cutlery, glass wine glasses and material napkins as everything can be washed and popped back into the basket ready for the next trip. The multi-tool came in handy for cutting sandwiches and opening the wine. I think it is a great little extra in the basket.

The basket is finished with lovely detail with all the hardware being made from gold metal and all the straps and basket handle made from brown leather. I think it definitely adds to the look of a traditional picnic basket.

Compact, lightweight and good quality - What more could you want when looking for a picnic basket?! Priced at £43.99 this basket is perfect for date days out on the beach or in the park. With all the contents being reusable it is definitely excellent value for money. You can also purchase the basket for 4 people which would be great for family days out or couple dates.

Be sure to follow Savisto on Twitter and Facebook as they always have amazing deals and competitions going on.

I was sent this basket for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review.
