Hub Hotels have been around for about three years now with four hotels dotted around London. The Hub Hotels in London are situated in Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, Brick Lane, Westminster, Goodge Street and Kings Cross. There is also two in Edinburgh, one in Royal Mile and one in Rose Street. The purpose of Hub Hotels is to provide stylish, affordable and enjoyable accommodation in beautiful locations with the help of modern technology.
We stayed in the one on Brick Lane. On arrival we were greeted by a very modern check in area. To check in there is an iPad style screen where you simply enter your Surname and it brings up all your booking details then you tap your room key card against the pad which activates it for you and that is it, all checked in and ready to go. Super quick and super easy.
Once checked in there is a big lounge area with quirky quoted prints and a comfy seating area. There was a few standard table and chairs with some big comfy chairs dotted around perfect for if you wanted to sit and chat with a drink on an evening. There was a bar and a hot drink section which served unlimited tea and costa coffee 24/7. The set Hub Breakkie allows you to create your own breakfast combo by picking one breakfast from the list including; bacon sandwich, cheese toastie, porridge, natural yoghurt, sourdough toast and cinnamon bagel. Next you add your choice of drink; Costa coffee, Brew tea co, fruit juice or water and to top it off you get a fruit pot. All this will only cost you £5. I think it is great that they offer a fruit juice or water as most set breakfasts only offer tea or coffee and not everyone drinks them.
Once we had checked out the lobby we headed to our room on the 3rd floor. All doors require you to use your key card to open them which is great for security. On entering the room we were greeted with quite a small compact space but perfect for one person or two people if you don't mind sharing a bed. The bed itself has a Hypnos sprung mattress, deep-sided pillows and a 13.5 tog duvet. The duvet comes rolled up on the bed with a little note attached to explaining all about the benefits of the duvet how it is cleverly designed to regulate your body temperature to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I find it hard to sleep in hotels and I am normally quite restless but I slept like an absolute dream. There is also under bed storage for any suitcases or over night bags.
I am a massive fan of technology so was super excited to be able to control the lights and temperature via a little control panel at the top of the bed. There is also the option to download an app to your phone to control them if you prefer to do it this way. I downloaded the app and found it super easy to use. At the end of the bed there was a 40” Smart TV which welcomes you with the name you booked in. You can sink your Spotify account, link your phone to it so you can watch YouTube and there are build in movies which are updated on a regular basis allow you to watch more recent films. Being slightly obsessed with social media it was great to see that Hub Hotels offer free Wifi which connects straight away without the need to sign up. At the end of the day when all your batteries are drained including your phone, there’s plugs with a little shelf and there is also USB sockets so again if you forget your plug Hub Hotels have you covered.
All hotel prices start at £69 a night, we paid just over £100 for a two night stay. If you are looking for somewhere modern in a great location I can not recommend Hub Hotels enough.
