On Wednesday night Glen and I visited Simply Italian in Rochester. Simply Italian is a little family run Italian restaurant situated on Rochester High Street. It looks like quite a small restaurant but once you get inside you realise how much space it actually has. Spread across two floors there are plenty of tables to accommodate customers. The menu is quite a basic menu but still filled with lots of tasty Italian food.
On arrival we were greeted by a waitress, shown to our table where we were given a couple of the menu and a copy of the specials and asked if we would like a drink. Glen order a Birra Moretti an Italian beer and I order a large lemonade. After around five minutes the waitress returned and asked if we were ready to order. For starters Glen ordered Ciabatta and I ordered the Garlic Bread. Both started arrived super quick and were pipping hot. My garlic bread was packed full of fresh garlic and you could tell it was home made. Onto the mains Glen ordered Tagliatelle con Funghi e Porcini, A dish of tagliatelle with wild mushrooms in a cream & white wine sauce and I order a Margherita pizza with added peperoni salame, basically a peperoni pizza. The pizza itself was completely home made with home made tomato sauce on the base. The base itself was extremely thin and cooked to perfection. Glen really enjoyed the pasta dish, he said the pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce wasn't too creamy and went perfectly with the mushrooms. We also ordered a side of chips thinking it would be a little portion but there was defiantly enough for two of us. Unfortunately I couldn't finish all my pizza but the restaurant kindly let you take anything you can not finish home with you. Perfect for lunch the next day.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Simply Italian and we will defiantly be heading back in the near future.
Simply Italian have restaurants in Eastbourne, Battle and Rye as well as Rochester. If you are ever near one I would highly recommend popping in for a spot of lunch or dinner.

I am one of them people who always has their make-up bag in their bag but I can probably count on one hand how many times I have needed it but I am one of them you never know people. The make-up bag I am currently using was a gift from my parents for Christmas from Matalan. I try to keep the products to a minimum, last time I cleaned it out there wasn't 9 lip products of pretty much all the same shade I promise.
So lets take a look at what is in my make-up bag. First off I have my Fleur De Force mirror which came free with purchase when Fleur first released her make-up line. I like to carry a couple of brushes with me for various products. I have my mini Bobbi Brown face blender which I like to use with my H and M pressed powder, a mini EcoTools powder brush which I use with whatever blusher I pop in the bag before I head out the door and the final brush I have is the Real Techniques setting brush which I use to buff in my benefit boi-ing concealer if I need a little touch up. I like to carry a mini mascara with me as I am all about big lashes, currently I have a mini Eyeko black magic mascara in there. Surprisingly I am only carrying two lip products with me, a gorgeous lipstick and lipgloss duo from Colour Couture. Unfortunately they don't have any shade names but they are a lovely your lips but better colour combo. I also like to carry a fragrance with just encase we are out and about and decide we are going to go for dinner or something like that. Currently I have Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillé which was a gift from Glen for Christmas. I love the sweet cake like scent it has.

What essentials do you carry in your make-up bag on a day to day basis?

If you read last weeks planner post you will see I made an order on Etsy for some planner stickers. When I placed that order I also placed an order with CandyPinkDesigns. I purchased a sheet of cinema stickers, a sheet of nail polish stickers and a sheet of plan stickers. All together my order came to £5.50 with postage which I think is an amazing deal. Postage took around a week from purchase. In with the order Amy included a little sampler sheet which has a super cute Mr Potato Head on it. I think I will defiantly use this the week the new Toy Story film comes out. The stickers are designed really well and are really good quality. I would recommend checking out CandyPinkDesigns on Esty if you are interested in planning.

Being a beauty lover I always receive lots of beauty bits for Christmas. My drawers are definitely stocked up for a while. This year I have decided to set myself ten mini beauty challenges to use this up to try and de-clutter my beauty draws before my birthday comes round in October and before Christmas comes around again.

Ten mini beauty challenges for 2016.
    1.  Finish Victoria's Secret Strawberry and Champagne spray.
I have had this spray for ages now and even though it is my favourite VS scent I just want to finish it now.

    2. Use up at least five body butter.
For Christmas I received a few body butters and already had a stash in my draws so I would like to use up at least five.

    3. Finish Soap and Glory primer.
Again this has been sitting in my draw for a while and I just want to finish it up.

    4. Finish 2true highlighting concealer.
I bought this in the Supderdrug sale for £1. It is a good concealer but seems to be never ending.

    5. Finish Hope in a night jar.
I am one of them people who always forget night creams but I can see the bottom of the jar now so it is time to finish it.

    6. Finish W.O.S and Naked 2 in the Naked Basics palette.
I have hit pan on both of these and would just like to finish both of them.

    7. Finish Mac Creme Cup.
This was my first ever high end lipstick and also my first and only Mac lipstick. I have a small amount left and would just like to finish it as it is not my favourite any more.

    8. Hit pan on a blusher.
Anyone who knows me knows blushers are like my babies and I would love to just hit pan on at least one in my collection.

    9. Hit pan on a powder.
I don’t tend to wear powder on a daily basis but have a few in my collection so I would like to hit pan on at least one and hopefully maybe finish one.

    10. Finish Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic Lip Balm.
I have hit pan on this so again it is just something I would like to finish now I can see the bottom.

What would you like to use up from your collection in 2016?

The planning community is something I have always had an interest in and this year I finally decided it was time to take the plunge and join the planning community. Etsy has now become one of my favourite websites to browse, there are thousands of supplies selling stickers to help make your planner look pretty. Recently I placed an order with EllenBeeMakes after seeing a lot of people in the planner community mentioning stickers that they had purchased from her store. I purchased a sheet of football stickers, a sheet of nail varnish bottles, date night/cinema stickers, a sheet of blog stickers, London themed stickers, Harry Potter theme stickers and a sheet of pink sprinkle stickers. All together it came to around £10 with postage which I think is a great deal. The postage took around a week. The stickers are excellent quality and I can’t wait to start decorating my planner with them. I would definitely recommend EllenBeeMakes if you are interested in planning.

    Ingredients.
    8oz Cream Cheese.
    1/2 Cup of Sour Cream.
    1 Cup Grated Mozzarella.
    1/2 Grated Cheese.
    1 tbsp Garlic Powder.
1/2 Cup of Marinara Sauce or Pizza Topping Sauce.
    Pepperoni.
    Bacon Pieces.
    1 French Stick.

You will also need a deep over proof pan. We find a deep frying pan or a deep saucepan works fine.

After seeing this dish created on one of them food pages on YouTube Glen and I decided to recreate it adapting it to make it our own.

Step one - Fry off bacon pieces and leave to one side.
Step two - Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, grated mozzarella and garlic powder in a bowl.
Step three - Spread the cheese mixture evenly into your chosen pan.
Step four - Spread an even layer of marinara on top. We find Asdas pizza topping that comes in a jar works fine.
Step five - Sprinkle grated cheese over the top of the sauce.
Step six - Place pepperoni and bacon on top of the cheeses.
Step seven - Add one last sprinkle of cheese on top.
Step eight - Pop in the oven at 350F for 20 minutes until the cheese starts to bubble.
Step nine - Cut your french stick into rounds. You can either leave these as they are or pop them in the oven to warm them slightly.
Step ten - Remove from oven, Dig in and Enjoy.

I hope some of you find this recipe useful. We like making this on a weekend as a treat.

Christmas 2015 was one of the best Christmases for me, Glen and I travelled back to Sunderland to surprise my parents and spend Christmas with them. Spending Christmas back in my home time was one of the best things about my Christmas but I have picked out a few of my favourite gifts to share with you all. I am not bragging in the slightest but this year I was extremely spoilt and feel incredibly lucky to have received such lovely gifts from both sides of our families.
My sister spoils me all year round but for Christmas she bought me some lovely personal gifts including a print of a quote which pretty much sums me up, 'And though she be but little she is fierce - William Shakespeare.' She put it in a gorgeous rose gold frame as well. Along with the print she bought me a frame with a photo of both of us from my birthday, a penguin cup from Cath Kidston which is such cute, my 2016 planner which I am now obsessed with and some emoji stationary to go with it which is amazing. Emoji stickers are the best. She also bought me some candles and lots more.
Glen went above and beyond this year and earned some serious fiancé points ;). We both do a stocking for each other, this year mine consisted of candles, chocolate and makeup. What more could a girl want. Once stockings were done it was time to open main presents. Glen sneakily wrapped all my presents individually, popped them in a box then wrapped the box. The first present I opened was a set of makeup brushes that I had popped on my amazon wish list. I was tempted to ask for the rose gold Zoeva set but knowing there aren't exactly cheap I opted for some I found on amazon. I then opened a couple of Nars which I couldn't not believe, I had popped them on my list but did not expect to receive them. Next came the item I had put on my list in the hope Santa aka Glen would pop it under the tree for Christmas, The Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Set. There was one more present let in the box..... ZOEVA ROSE GOLD MAKEUP BRUSHES. He had listened to me bang on about them so much that he bought them for me.
It is a bit of a tradition that we all save one present to give someone once we have had dinner. Once dinner was finished and we were all stuffed it was time for round two of presents. Glen had already outdone himself so when he presented me with one last present I had no idea what it could be. As I started to open it I relieved a gold box with Tom Ford on it. He had only gone and bought me Tom Ford Black Orchid. To say I was spoilt is a bit of an understatement.
Every year my sister and I get money as our main present from our mam and dad to spend on whatever we want and my mam makes my sister and I a basket full of smellies with things like deodorant, shower gel, bath bombs etc etc. This year my parents also bought me things like PJs, penguin and minion related items and a Starbucks cup as it is tradition that I get one for Christmas every year. This year they bought me the limited edition travel cup which has a beautiful design on it. They also bought me a super soft penguin blanket.
My in-laws also bought me some lovely presents. From my mother and father in-law I received a lovely new bag, new phone case, minion dvd, some smellies and a Jo Malone Christmas cracker which I was super grateful to receive. From the rest of Glens side of the family I received some candles, dvds, a scarf, a penguin cushion (they know me well), some headphones I wanted and a gorgeous pair of Pandora star earrings.

As you can see I was well and truly spoilt this year and I am extremely grateful for everything I received.

What did you receive for Christmas?

2016 is upon us and in full swing already. 2015 was one of the best years I have had in a long time. One of my favourite memories from 2015 is of course 3rd April, the day Glen and I got engaged. I had no idea he was going to propose but I wouldn't have changed it for the world and I am super excited to be planning our wedding. We also had a small party with friends and family which was an amazing night and lots of photos were taken to remember the night. In July we celebrated our two year anniversary in York which holds lots of special memories for us. As well as being in York we spent the rest of the week in the North with my parents. My parents luckily live around 10 minutes drive from the beach so it was lovely to spend some time down by the beech together to end our trip. In September I attended my first Southampton Bloggers meet up and met some amazing girls and finally got to meet the lovely Alice. Glen and I also took a trip to Wingham Wildlife Park which was a great day out and I would highly recommend it. I celebrated my 23rd birthday back in the North with my family and Glen. For my birthday my sister baked me some awesome emoji cupcakes and we spent the night at Sunderland Illuminations. For Glens birthday I surprised him with tickets to see The Lion King in London which was an amazing show and defiantly worth all the effort I put in to keep it a surprise for him. We also went for a meal with friends to round off his birthday weekend. We spent new years eves with Glens parents down the local pub which was a nice night and a nice way to see 2015 out.

I am not one to usually make new year resolutions but there are a few things I would like to achieve in 2016.
    1. Make a blog schedule and hopefully stick to it.
    2. Improve my blog photos.
    3. Take more pictures and polaroids.
    4. Hopefully loose around two to three stone.
    5. Have date day or night at least once a month.

I hope you all had an amazing 2015, what would you like to achieve in 2016?
